Opera Viva with Antonio Lacchini for Valdettaro Group
We set off at 4 am with the van fully loaded to set up the exhibition on the ground.
Once the preparations were complete, it was time to find a lift out onto the water: thanks to the Italian Navy’s kindness, I boarded one of their rubber dinghies to reach the starting line of the Valdettaro Trophy. Seeing these historic wooden boats catching the wind with their sails unfurled makes every kilometre travelled worthwhile.
As we needed assistance, we remained stationary near the starting buoy until the wind picked up and forced us to seek shelter ashore. There, amidst the manoeuvres of other boats and our passages close to the coast, the light did the rest.
