Cantieri navali di Sestri was founded in the mid-1950s as a shipyard specialising in the repair and scrapping of barges and tugs. Towards the end of the 1980s, it shifted its focus to high-end pleasure craft.
Today, it focuses primarily on philological restoration and the complex maintenance of boats. In 2025, it hosted the second series of Opera Viva.
